Title : STATUS OF NSLS-II: A NOVEL LIGHT SOURCE DESIGN

Abstract :
NSLS-II at Brookhaven National Laboratory a new third-generation, 3 GeV storage ring light source, began construction Feb. 2009 with operation planned for 2014.
When completed, NSLS-II will provide users with a wide spectral range from IR to ultra-high brightness (> 1021) for x-ray beams and will replace the existing two (25+ year old) NSLS light sources. While presenting an overview of the NSLS-II
accelerator system, this talk focuses on the strategy and development of novel <1 nm emittance light source. Status of construction and testing of components will also be presented.
