Title: High Pressure Synchrotron Study of Electron Correlated Systems
Abstract:
The resonance of high-pressure science and modern synchrotron radiation has greatly contributed to the advancement and development of multiple disciplines, including the research of the electron correlated systems in the condensed matter physics. On the one hand, the pressure as a clean, theoretically relatively transparent means of modulation, can effectively tune the electronic correlations to produce new solid states; the other hand, the coupling of the synchrotron radiation and high pressure environments makes these new phenomena presented under high pressure can be observed and studied. This lecture will briefly introduce our recent studies on the pressure induced novel magnetic, insulator-metal transitions in some d and f electron systems by applying the advanced synchrotron x-ray techniques, and then focus on our latest investigation the superconductivity transition in Bi2212.
