Title: Structure of Materials studies at the ESRF-EBS
Abstract:
At a moment, the extreme brilliant source (EBS) is delivering the world’s first high-energy fourth-generation synchrotron light at the ESRF. The delivery of the EBS was done in time and since August 2020, the beamlines have been open to users. The new storage ring, together with the most advanced portfolio of new beamlines, instrumentation and data management tools, has increased X-ray performances 100 times compared to third generation synchrotrons. ESRF is providing new tools for the investigation of materials from the macroscopic world down to the nanometre scale and even down to the single atom, sparking new research opportunities in fields such as health and medicines, energy and the environment, cultural heritage and palaeontology and the development of new sustainable materials.
