Call for Applications: 14th Young Scientist Award
The 14th Young Scientist Award is now open for applications. We encourage researchers to submit recommendations following the guidelines below.

1. Purpose | This award aims to recognize and encourage outstanding young researchers in synchrotron radiation science, contributing to the advancement of the SpRUC (Specific Synchrotron Radiation Facilities Users Community). |
2. Award Description | The award is open to young researchers who have made significant contributions to the development of methods or analytical techniques using SPring-8, SACLA, or NanoTerasu. It also includes those who have achieved remarkable research outcomes by effectively utilizing existing techniques. Industrial applications leading to commercialization and product development are also considered. |
3. Number of Winners | Up to three per year. |
4. Eligibility Criteria | Applicants must be individual members of the Specific Synchrotron Radiation Facilities Users Community, be under the age of 35 on April 1, 2025, and have achieved significant research results using SPring-8, SACLA, or NanoTerasu by March 31, 2025. Exceptions may be made for career breaks due to parental leave, caregiving, etc. Group applications will not be accepted. |

6. Submission Procedure | Submit the recommendation (or self-recommendation) letter, including a self-appeal and research achievements, via email. For details, refer to this document. |

8. Selection Process | The SpRUC selection committee will conduct a rigorous review. The final decision will be made by the SpRUC Council. |
9. Announcement | The award winners will be announced in mid-July. The award ceremony and presentations will take place at the Specified Synchrotron Radiation Facilities Symposium 2025 (scheduled for September). |
