Research Group: X-ray Spectroscopy Research Group
Research Area: Fundamental Characterization, Applied Materials, MeasurementsBeamline: BL01B1, BL14B2, BL27SU, BL28B2, BL37XU, BL39XU, BL40XU, BL47XUOverview of Research Group, Goals and Purposes: X-ray spectroscopy using synchrotron radiation (SR), such as X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) and X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF), has been widely used as indispensable methods for solid state physics, materials, catalysis, environmental and earth sciences. Advanced measurement techniques of X-ray spectroscopy, especially time- and spatially-resolved techniques, have been developed and applied for user experiments as with the other kinds of SR techniques. These new techniques, however, are not familiar for general users yet. The purposes of this group are to promote advanced user applications using latest X-ray spectroscopy techniques and to contribute users to create excellent research achievements at SPring-8. This group also aims at making proposals about new applications and beamline specification at next SR facilities, such as SPring-8 II, and at contributing to promote construction of next SR facilities. The activity plans are as follows.
