ABSTRACT
A macromolecular crystallography beamline BL45XU allows for automation diffraction experiment by using the photon flux of the 1.0 × 1012 〜 2.0 × 1013 (photons/s@1 Å). Since the beam size can be changed from 5 × 5 to 50(H) × 50(V) µm2, it can perform to automated & high throughput data collection with various samples whose size is from a few micrometer (such as membrane proteins) to several hundreds micrometer.

SOURCE AND OPTICS
The light source of BL45XU is the SPring-8 standard in-vacuum undulator. A liquid –nitrogen-cooled Si double crystal monochromator is used to monochromatize the beam. BL45XU covers from 6.5 to16 keV, is installed the KB mirror to forcus.
